The key to a smooth ride on fat tires is to find the appropriate air pressure. Lower pressures are better for bumpier conditions, snow or mud. Battery capacity is the most important factor for an e-bike. It governs the overall range of the bike and power delivery to the electric motor. The battery capacity is responsible for the bike’s overall range. With a larger capacity, the battery will last longer, increasing the bike’s range. A higher voltage and ampere-hour rating of the battery helps deliver power quickly. Off-road electric bikes feature a battery of 36 to 48V 15Ah capacity.
Having multiple speeds on an off-road e-bike is beneficial considering the type of terrain it has to endure. The speed depends on the gears’ configuration which increases or decreases the transfer of pedaling force. On rough terrains, the pedalling force can be changed to add comfort to the user. A good gear ratio also helps while the user is pedalling uphill. It results in reducing the fatigue of users and assisting them in maintaining a certain speed. The lower gears are beneficial at low speeds while high gears assist the user at higher speeds. Popularly, a total of 7 or 21-speed gears are used for an off-road electric bike.
